Holiday Inn Express & Suites Hood River By Ihg

We are very comfortable at Comfort Suites. It's our "go to" place when we are able to visit family in the area.

Hot tub was off limits both days for no apparent reason. We specifically selected Comfort Inn for the hot tub. Will avoid for future trips.

Nothing stands out

Location, away from the down town area, Hard to find, sign out front is blocked by trees. drove by it couple of times before I found it

Hood River is a small town so every site is a good location.

Construction of the hotel building is still going on dince god knows when. It is a real bothersome.

The size of the room and location. Also the contenental breakfast.

I woke up with bites all over my shoulder. About 20 of them. I told the front desk and they checked the bed and pillows and said there were no sign of bugs and maybe I picked something up elsewhere. However, when I got home a took a closer look at the bites, it was deffinately bed bugs! There is no other explenation!

The spa pool was very nice and the rooms were spacious and well-designed with the sofa area.

The pool was a little bit too cold.

Interior decor is in need of updating. Requested a room close to an entry for my wife who barely gets around with a walker. We were given a room almost as far as possible from the entry. At my request we were given one close to the elevator but the lock and handle were a real challenge to operate. As it was our 50th anniversary I asked for a view room. I was told that was impossible as the hotel was full. They claim 62 rooms. At 7:00 am the next morning I counted 26 cars in the parking lot. ??????

Nice to get a good breakfast to start off the day...sausage, ham and on our last day bacon.

The Taco Bell infront of the hotel was being remodeled, end of July 2012, I woke up to hammering at 5am and I even had my ear plugs in!

Location was excellent. We enjoyed the breakfast, cleanliness of room, helpful nature of staff member at reception counter, and quiet room enabling a good night's sleep.

The rooms are very comfortable and virtually soundproof. The complementary breakfast is outstanding and I appreciate the spaciousness of the breakfast room.

The breakfast and pool/spa. The spacious rooms with the extra comforts of home like a couch, microwave, refrigerator, etc.

The air conditioner did not work during the night and we were quite hot. At first we were placed in a conjoining room with a crying baby and asked to be moved. One of our keys did not work.

Courteous staff, room was clean, and free continental breakfast.

The breakfast room did not have enough tables and the food was very mediocre at best, but what can you expect for free. The 3rd day we were there they had men working @9:00 am with sledgehammers taking off the bricks of the outside of the building, we unfortunately, had a room on that very end! Had we known ahead of time we could have planned to be out sightseeing that day instead of the day befor! When I called the frontdesk they said they were sorry & had no idea that the workers were going to be there. I asked if we could be moved to a different room ( this was a Monday) they had nothing left but the room right next to the elevator.I Was very disappointed that they weren't a little more apologetic and more helpful. Needless to say, we ended up cutting our stay at comfort suites short..

The room was clean and well-appointed. The staff displayed great service and were attentive to my needs. I particularly appreciated the variety of snacks available late at night, which came in handy after a long travel day. The business center was well-lit and had ergonomic chairs that facilitated my work efficiently.

It was clean, warm, receptive. They provide tremendous customer service. The breakfast was excellent. The coffee was very good.

The room was spacious. I enjoyed the breakfast which had many offerings, both cold and hot items.

This hotel was more expensive than many others, but they were already booked. The ice machine on my floor was not working and when I went to another floor, found that ice machine was not working also, so I finally went to a third machine that was working (there was a machine on each of the three floors). The hotel charges $1.50 a day for a safe which can be reimbursed, but some may not be aware of the charge. Lastly, at some point my card key stopped working and I had to travel to the front desk twice before the reactivation worked.
